Review of Wyatt Earp (1994) by Tracy D — 14 Oct 2012
A good movie if not as good as tombstone, the main problems with it compared to tombstone are that the characters are not as well written and the actors just dont convey them as memorably as in tombstone especially the cowboys.
costner and quad are great, though even a great quad cant compete with kilmers interpritation of doc. though overall this maybe closer to the truth its also a bit self indulgent and ends very abruptly leaving u thinking even with this long movie something was cut.
and with the end your left unsatisfied at many of the characters neglect aside a barely can read final crawl, saying that, its still a great movie well acted with some fine scenes some better than tombstone, the killing of curley bill and the miricle wyatt scene is brilliant as is the train departure scene were wyatt unloads his entire gun into an already dead attacker with doc trying to stop him both these scenes are better than in tombstone but over all this is a very good well made movie that just isnt as good as its nearest competition of tombstone.
