Let's face it. A dialogue film which shouldn't manage without music is not worth much. Perhaps a dialogue film which shouldn't manage without dialogue is bad too.

You are forced to put such questions to yourself after watching this version of "Wuthering Heights", the moor passion drama which never seems to leave us. Andrea Arnold really does something new of the material, using amateurs in a dirty, muddy and beautiful Yorkshire without much mercy.

The passion is there, really there, but most of it can be noticed from eyes and moves, although people certainly talk. There are few emotional explosions, but there is a dangerous fire there all the time. No question about this being a movie about destiny and why should you have music too? Well worth seeing, if you want to watch an adaption far away from the main roads.
