Review of Wuthering Heights (2011) by Linda B — 30 Dec 2012
Another adaptation of the novel! This one is well-done though. Why did they never ever adapt the second part??? Very poetic a bit too much sometimes and it gets close to a horror movie - with the wet twig filmed shot for two minutes in the windy and gray English moors.
The new thing is that Hetahcliff is black! And why not? He was a gypsy in the novel. Kaya Scodelario as Cathy is touching and you kinda pro the rough and tough Heathcilff (James Howson). But I don't remember that Hindley came from Glasgow with this accent the actor fakes and that Emily Bronte had written that Heathcliff said to the Earnshaw and the Hindley: "Fuck you, cunts!" But it gives a new color to this old classic.
