Review of Wuthering Heights (1992) by Sandra C — 06 Jan 2009
Any film adaptation of the book couldn't do the plot justice, but this one makes a good attempt at including all the right elements. I really can't stand the ones that ignore the whole plot around the second generation.
Ralph Fiennes is absolutely gorgeous and does the transition to brooding obsessive love wonderfully. Not sure about Juliette Binoche - I think she captured Cathy's mean side, but her death should have been more destructive in spirit.
I truly hated the part when Heathcliff walks towards the waiting Cathy all dressed in white at the end.
