Review of Wrongfully Accused (1998) by Corey H — 14 Jan 2008
Harmless spoof chock full of Leslie Nielsen goofiness - not particularly funny, but for as many that fall flat there are a few gags that had me laughing well into the next scene. The parodies within the film are rather weak - with this movie, I would say Pat Proft founded the "Family Guy" school of parody, that is, simple recognition is enough for a laugh.
"Oh look, that's the scene from Titanic! That's the line from Casablanca!" It's hollow, cheap and lazy writing. But unlike Family Guy, it's all in good fun.
