Review of Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead (2009) by Nicola P — 23 Nov 2010
Another horrible entry in the straight to video arena. But honestly this script in the right hands and a half way decent cast could have made something pretty badass. Especially if you get someone in there that can tell a story and my suggestion would be to almost make the mutant a subject of sympathy.
Speaking of the mutant. What a butt-fuck horrible make up job. He looked like Freakshow from the 1st Harold and Kumar movie. Hell, Freakshow looked more convincing of a back woods cannibal then this guy.
And also only one mutant cannibal freak. The other two gave you a whole family of gene pool rejects. Which brings me to it's next big mistake. CGI gore. It doesn't work it never will work. Espeically when it looks like Powerpoint could have done a better job.
You are ruining gore effects. Everybody was unlikeable. And not in a way where you are like oooooo I hate him because he's the villian. No, just don't like them. Never felt bad for one death in this.
The people who died first are the lucky ones cause they didn't have to sit through the rest of it. This is an insult to horror.
