Wrong Turn Foundation is a completely different step, away from the deformed cannibals. To me, it was a welcome change as the 6th entry kinda felt like the last nail into the coffin. This might be a way to keep the Wrong Turn franchise alive, by exploring further into possible "Wrong Turns", like cults, other monsters or similar.
