Review of Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007) by Chris M — 03 Aug 2008
Dreadful sequel to the surprisingly solid original that reuses the criminally overused and often abused "reality show" concept that so many have been using recently in films such as Halloween: Resurrection and Kolobos.
The film, on paper, might have seemed like a good idea, but the script is so dull and cliche ridden that it soon stops being fun and turns into annoyance, as one can start to move 20 steps ahead of the characters in the film. This small mistake can normally be ignored if there's at least some fun to be had, but this movie plays things deathly serious and it's a real shame.
Look out for an almost shot for shot recreation of Texas Chainsaw's infamous dinner scene towards the end, which has no place in this movie.
At least this had a good opening.
