Review of Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007) by Ian B — 19 Nov 2011
A surprisingly good sequel (especially when you consider it's a low budget direct-to-video sequel). The script is pretty flat, but director Joe Lynch manages to create some fantastic gore and action sequences.
Infact this definitely has to be one of the bloodiest films I've seen in recent memory. The cast is also pretty damn good. Henry Rollins kicks ass, there's plenty of hot chicks to go around, and you get to see some chick from American Idol cut in half! What's not to like? My only nit-pick is that the makeup on the mutants isn't half as good or scary as it was in the original film.
Then again how can anyone compete with Stan Winston? Wrong Turn 2 is actually a ton of fun, not to be taken seriously, and did I mention gory as hell? I highly recommend this movie to all the slasher/gore fans out there.
