Review of Wristcutters: A Love Story (2007) by Emily M — 16 Mar 2009
Wristcutters is a dark and unusual tale of love. The way the film was shot, was kind of drab and there were a few slow parts, but for the most part I enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of What Dreams May Come, or something of that nature.
I like Patrick Fugit. Ever since he was William Miller in Almost Famous, he can do no wrong in my book. I also like Shannyn Sossmon. She is a good actress and very beautiful. I think she fits rolls like this well. She played Mikal perfectly. It kind of reminded me of her role of Lauren in The Rules Of Attraction, a little bit. I think that she should get more leads.
Wristcutters is definitely not your epic, happily ever after love story, but it will keep you entertained.
