Review of Wristcutters: A Love Story (2007) by Josh T — 29 Mar 2009
A lot of art kids told me I should watch this film. Which is exactly why I didn't watch it for so long. Well.....
It wasn't great. I'm not saying the movie was bad, it just held no real depth for me. Yes, the idea of suicides going to a specific place is interesting, but too much of it wasn't as logical as I would have liked. Mostly, it just sounds like a load of conspiracys.
I mean, the story is intriguing...but it's so dry. Not that good kind of artsy dry either, just plain ole fashioned dry.
A lot of it seemed superficial and meaningless. I know that being bored in the afterlife is a great way to show suicides, but they didn't have to make the movie....actually boring.
I dunno. It was alright, but I'm missing what the big deal is.
