After a day of film appreciation we were just crying out for something a little light hearted and with Wreck-It Ralph we got exactly that. A basic story, yes, but it's success lies in the detail. The cool sound effects, the constant string of computer game references, the humour accessible for adults and children are layer together well.
It just makes you smile. It certainly isn't boundary breaking and the pacing suffers in a couple of parts but overall this reference filled retro racer will bring a smile.
