There is absolutely nothing new about this sequel than from the original. After two movies, I should feel some sort of empathy for Perseus, but I don't. Most of the ideas are copied from other movies, for example: the prison of Tartarus shfiting like a puzzle, that was a concept developed a little more cleverly in Alien vs Predator.

These movies are driven by special effects.

And why is the father of the gods more like the Kraken than a nobler or more powerful Zeus? Lazy and unimaginative storytelling.
