Review of Wrath of the Titans (2012) by Ron C — 07 Apr 2013
A utterly dull mess and I thought this would have the benefit of being less compared to the original being it's own thing as a sequel. Nope.
It's ugly looking by the chaotic designs, generic village and camp designs for TV movies, and drab costumes in all the sand and dust.
The cyclops scene was very gripping through the majority, cause it actually was a change of scenery and successfully suspenseful at first. And the labyrinth scene was a neat idea, better where it led to, Tatarus, was a stupid concept art piece they just slapped on and went with.
And the brothers dynamic between Ares and Perseus, over their father's affection, actually had a moment or two where I wished something more came out of it. That didn't work for Zeus or Hades for how unconvincingly they reconciled in the end.
The climax, the same as the first but more flare and less stakes. And a very cruel, harsh treatment of killing off the whole mythology along with all the gods.
