Review of Wrath of the Titans (2012) by Alexander R — 14 Dec 2013
Epic movie following the adventures of the classic hero, Perseus. Cronos joins forces with Ares and Hades and then turns against his own son Zeus and apprehends him draining his power and putting the whole balance of the universe in jeopardy. It is up to Perseus, son of Zeus to rescue his father and restore the order of the world with the help of a former lover, queen Andromeda, and the son of Poseidon, Agenor a demigod with actitude. The three of them embark in a dangerous journey encountering mythological creatures and divine enemies.
Visually it is an attractive film, the fights, the Cyclops, the monsters... the computer generated images are appealing and impressive. It is a shame that the story is so shambolic and incoherent... how come gods die? aren't they supposed to be immortal? that's why they are gods, isn't it? A good cast and special effects are wasted in this script written by a less than average writer that didn't read his/her classics properly.
