Review of WR: Mysteries of the Organism (1971) by Chris S — 14 Sep 2009
Even with this radically liberal film that can only be described as strange more than anything, I think the filmmaker's not as sexually liberated as he seems to think he is. The sexually liberated woman in the film is beheaded after having a brief sexual encounter with a stranger.
I don't know much about its critique of politics but it seems like every sexually liberated woman in Dusan Makavejev's films are either sex maniacs or victims. Hmm, that's what I'd usually call radically conservative.
