Review of Woyzeck (1979) by Benjamin S — 25 Jul 2007
Incredible. An intense viewing experience in which the lead character is abused by society, then driven over the brink of madness by... what? The call of the natural world? His own inner anger, finally rising to the surface? Or was it just a matter of time? I'm not sure WHO I would recommend this film to, as Herzog explores a level of brutal truth and bizarre character lows not many people care to witness, but I do highly recommend it.
