Review of World's Greatest Dad (2009) by Tait W — 18 Jun 2012
A very well done film about an unsuccessful poetry teacher and his hostile son. He suffers through many issues in life and is not happy with the way things are turning out. He has dreams of becoming a famous author, but everything he writes gets rejected.
He wants to best for his son, but in return he is insulted constantly by him. Then, he comes home one day to find that his child has died of autoerotic asphyxiation... so he decides to fake a suicide with his son's dead body and writes many "journals" from his son's point of view which later becomes a book that becomes very popular.
Now it's up to the World's Greatest Dad to not crack under the pressure and tell what really happened to his son on that tragic day. It is a wonderful film with a great performance from Robin Williams.
I recommend that you either rent it or pick up a copy on DVD.
