Review of World's Greatest Dad (2009) by Cody P — 26 Sep 2010
The trailer makes this out to be a straight-up comedy. It's really dark, and VERY strange (and taboo). This movie is beyond demented, with Robin Williams giving the performance of his career. And the magazine stand scene with a random cameo by Krist Novoselic (Nirvana) is priceless.
With Hollywood only releasing remakes these days, this is one of the most original movies I've seen in a while. There are things in the storyline of the film that reminded me of Kurt Cobain. The appearance of Novoselic and the Nevermind album cover homage reinforced this.
Bobcat Goldthwait may be the new Todd Solondz.
