Review of World's Greatest Dad (2009) by Lilianetty L — 24 May 2011
I don't really see the comedy in this film. Is more of a serious/dramatic kind of film that will not only make you think, but also makes you feel the pain of a dad, one that a lie can change everything...and also telling the truth too.
Plot: Lance is a poetry teacher, and has a son named Kyle, who is a pervert of a child, and has the worst grades ever. One night, Lance discovers his son lying de...and he writes what he calls the 5th and final book, a book he promised that if it wasn't accepted, he would quit writing. How this will end? Check the film, and pay attention to all details so you don't get LOST. Stars for this interesting story-telling.
Acting: Defenetly Robin Williams was great as Lance Clayton, and he nailed the role in some moments, in others, I did not see nothing new at all. Alexie as Claire was great also, same Henry as Mike Lane. The one that surprised me a lot (since I have followed his career since Spy Kids, when I was a kid too), was Daryl Sabara as Kyle Clayton. THIS ROLE WAS SO PSYCO AND PERVERT! I never imagined him doing a role like this, and somehow, I must admit it, he NAILED IT! He made the character his own. Damn awesome, kinda sick too. Anyway, stars for this amazing cast.
Music: Some songs are kind of or sort of cliches, that alredy have been used A LOT! And when I mean A LOT is A LOT, and kind of...you know, get's to be to over the top. Still, the score was nice, but, I can only give one star for the effort made here...cliches uh?
To end this review, 3 stars of 5. Enjoy and HASTA LA PROXIMA AMIGOS/AS! CHAO! BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS!
