Review of World's Greatest Dad (2009) by Andrew C — 09 Jun 2012
Wow, didn't know this was released in 2009, don't think I ever saw it before. It was on Netflix figured I'd give it a shot. Turns out it was actually pretty good. Not really a comedy, if you are trying to pin it down based on Robin Williams being in it, but good none-the-less.
Kind of a mellow drama, you know pretty much at some point that the can worms is going to be opened, and I'm glad they didn't use that can as the mid-point and make it get super depressing or anything like that. I was actually starting to expect that to happen and I was trying to prepare myself cause I really just didn't want to deal with the normal way movies do it. But I was pleasantly surprised, and to me it was actually a positive almost uplifting ending.
I did watch it in two sittings, it kind of has that flow to where you really don't need to sit and watch it from start to finish to enjoy it. Just remember where you left off, so you don't miss too much.
