Review of World's Greatest Dad (2009) by Brent B — 12 Sep 2012
A potentially great dark comedy nearly ruined by a painfully predictable ending. The honesty message that is shoehorned into the last chunk of the movie feels almost offensive considering the moral greyness of the rest of the movie. Like Kyle himself, Robin Williams' wonderful acting convinces us for a while that this film is smart and profound, just to admit the truth in the last ten minutes.
Despite this rather large flaw, it's worth a watch for some nervous laughter and some genuine drama. Robin Williams and Daryl Sabara provide great performances.
