Review of World War Z (2013) by Angelo Dean B — 18 Jul 2014

Since I saw this movie before it came out I wondered how the audience reaction would've been but since then I noticed that the movie was not a zombie movie or a horror movie it's its own thing.

The story centers around a former United Nations investigator Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) who is now spending more time with his wife Karin (Mireille Enos) and their two daughters Rachel (Abigail Hargrove) and Constance (Sterling Jerins). While in traffic in Philadelphia something weird happens. A unexpected zombie attack happens. When the virus spreads all around the country Gerry's old friend Thierry (Fana Mokoena) recruits him to find answers. On the way Gerry meets Tommy (Guido) and Segen (Kertesz) who helps them on the journey to find a cure.

The highs of this movie were the action and how it was an awesome zombie thriller. It was very clever and not boring in any places. The movie also had the addition of many people who are capable of being future stars. In addition to future stars Brad Pitt had a great performance as Gerry. There were also giant set pieces with a compelling script which left the audience entertained. To top all that add humor and you have one of the best zombie movies ever made.

There were not many lows in this movie besides the amount of "horror." Even though there was not much it still kept the girl behind me kick my seat every time a zombie came out. there was also the ending that kept me unsatisfied.

To sum it all up delayed production didn't stop this movie from being a zombie hit. It's not exactly a zombie or horror movie. it's its own thing.

I can't wait if there is going to be a sequel because it was already teased.
