World War Z is a solid suspense and an exciting thriller, which blends the horror, action, and science-fiction genres very well, and it's also often very frightening; despite the lack of gore and carnage.
With a competent performance by Brad Pitt, and a simple but really effective plot, WWZ is a refreshing take on the zombie movie and I think if there would have been the addition of blood/gore, it would have been perfect.
