Review of World War Z (2013) by Sam S — 22 Nov 2014
Great film, thoroughly enjoyable and not what I expected at all. It's not a film where special effects drown out the rest of the movie as expected, rather they're used for certain scenes and used well without being totally over-board.
It's a 12 certificate which is interesting but also something of a relief as we're spared the cliched gore normally associated with a zombie/horror flick. Mr Pitt is careful not to over Brad it and although he's in pretty much every scene, it makes you feel like you're really on the journey with him and he down plays his role enough so that you don't tire of his presence.
Some really great tense scenes and snappy dialogue to boot and the ending lays up a possible sequel nicely.
