Review of World Trade Center (2006) by Thomas L — 21 Feb 2009
I've got to credit Oliver Stone for showing remarkable restraint that's out of character for him. Rather than employ his usual over-the-top visuals and over-the-top characters, he chose a real-life event that was more unbelieveable than anything he could've thought of and showed the very normal, flawed, sympathetic human beings who had to face it head on.
He also does a yeoman's job reminding us that the Port Authority cops' loved ones suffer a kind of emotional hurricane on par with what the cops themselves are going through.
