Review of World Trade Center (2006) by Dominic L — 31 Mar 2013
Based on a true story of courage and determination. One of Cages last films before his gray space from 2006-2008 happened. Cage was very serious in his role, unlike any I've ever seen before. Being primarily a film that just shows characters heads it does an amazing job of keeping the viewer interested.
Others and I agree that the movie did not plan out like we thought it would, I thought we'd get a little action of Cage helping others in buildings, even so, it didn't ruin the movie. Cage and Pena worked amazingly well together.
The sense of tension is real and it feels like it is actually happening, which is a success because it actually happened. Lighting had to be good for such dark environments and it was. I saw little to no flag waving in the film, and I'm from the UK, and even if there was, it's 9/11, it makes sense is there is flag waving.
