Review of World Trade Center (2006) by Jacob — 16 Feb 2009
Absolutely appalling! No characters, no dramaturgy, everyone just reacting to one thing. There's no set-up, so you don't even care about the men who get stuck nor about their families. Yes, it was a big dramatic event but it doesn't mean you can just forget the rules of storytelling.
You won't find out anything that you didn't already know, there's no angle, nothing insightful. A great disappointment from Oliver Stone. I will forever grieve for those two hours I spent watching this.
"United 93" is so much better.
