Review of Working Girl (2009) by Heather E — 01 Jun 2008
Watched this for the first time in years over Memorial Day weekend. If you haven't seen it, do. It's a lot of fun looking at young Melanie and Harrison, and this succeeds where a lot of today's romantic comedies fail in that the office plot is actually the focus.
The 80s hairstyles aren't distracting or annoying to me; if you lived in the 80s, then you'll find the styles a lot of fun. Alec Baldwin is good but unassuming as Tess' Long Island boyfriend; Joan Cusack (who I normally adore) is a little over the top as her nutty best friend.
As romantic comedies go, this it in my top 10.
