Review of Working Girl (2009) by Amy C — 07 Oct 2010
Smart and charming story that also makes an excellent commentary on the difficult road woman traveled in the working world of the eighties. Melanie Griffith has never been better, before or since, and she simply lights up the screen each and every time she appears.
Mike Nichols is good as always, though with his impressive resume it is obviously not his master work. The soundtrack is great and this leads me to my greatest impression upon viewing the film and that is the eighties themselves.
Man, what were we thinking? :).
