Review of Won't Back Down (2014) by Christine S — 25 Sep 2012
As a staff member of StudentsFirst, I am proud to support Won't Back Down because it tackles many of the education reform issues that are currently being debated across our country, and does so in a way that will inspire the audiences who see it.
Director Daniel Barnz -- who is the son of public school teachers -- succeeded in making a film that doesn't attack particular individuals, but does attack the status quo system in a school that doesn't work for its students.
This movie discusses the importance of effective educators and valuing their positive impact on students. It also shows what can happen when parents are engaged in their child's education. Once you see the movie, you will know that this is about standing up and doing what is best for kids and you will feel inspired to act!
