Review of Won't Back Down (2014) by Kadeem S — 27 Sep 2012
I like the cast and all, but Won't Back Down just can't impress audiences rather than watching The Help. Viola Davis did a wonderful performance from last year and won her 1st Oscar. Won't Back Down has a cliche script with a messy setting about two principals trying to face the ultimate test of helping and making a difference by turning a failing urban school into a powerful community.
You see, that's the problem. Remember Bully, a documentary that is sending a clear message to kids and parents that it is the wrong thing to do. That my friends is what school movies is all about.
A good, clean, educational way to talk about. Well fans of the African-American communities should enjoy this film. For others, you'll have to wait for a rental on Netflix. Won't Back Down is good, but not great.
I got another grade for the movie: C.
