Review of Wonderful Days (2003) by Charles M — 03 May 2010
Although it heavily borrows some ideas from other movies (most notably from Metropolis) it stands out as a marvelous achievement in animation. This was probably one of the best drawn animated movies I have ever seen and is enjoyable on that level despite of overly familiar story.
But I think that movie with such an amazing animation style deserved better and more original story. Also one of the major problems of this movie is weak character development, they didn't gave us much of a back-story and a reason to really care about any of this characters.
Visual imagination is there but it could have been great but all in all it failed in some aspects.
