Review of Wonderful Days (2003) by Ollie W — 03 Jul 2011
Moon-Sang Kim's Sky Blue is the visually impressive culmination of a 7 year long project and despite innovatively combining digital, hand-drawn and photo-realistic animation, it ultimately surmounts to an expensive manifestation of style over substance.
The characters are paper-thin, the dialogue miserable and the premise essentially cliched in every possible way. A shame then, when such impressive visuals are on show, that the Koreans should drop the ball when it comes to the real heart of the film.
