Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Osman K — 07 Feb 2018
I watched this movie many times, and every time, it manages to bring me to tears. Wonder Woman was a fantastic movie, not only because it's one of the first major female superheroes to date, but it's portrayal of our world.
Diana came from a land separate from ours, essentially a baby to the world, and sees everything with a fresh set of eyes. While we have studied history, the different wars and atrocities, this movie helped us understand it with a new set of eyes in her journey, and that's why I think it is an amazing movie.
In the scene Wonder woman didn't care about which side she was on. What she cared about was the fact that people were hurt and dying. She had so much hope for human life and believed that no one is bad.
She thought that the cause of all this pain and evil is Ares. War isn't fun, and it's a waste of life. It saddens me to know that Wonder woman's belief the all humans are inherently good isn't true.
The final scene in the movie where Steve Trevor tells Diana, that not everyone is "good" really broke her heart. It's because she's confused... She saw a world filled with the joys of music, dancing, laughter, love, and hope.
It broke her heart to think that these people who are capable of these emotions would fight against each other in war and kill each other.
