Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Adam H — 14 Feb 2018
An Obnoxious, insulting film that pretends to be far more progressive than it is, Wonder Woman tries to tell us it's a step forward for women simply because of tricking the talented Patty Jenkins into working on a script partly written by Zack Snyder, who not only created Sucker Punch one of the most atrociously awful sexual exploitation flicks of the the century so far, he is also simply a terrible writer, and it shows in this script.
The third act is one of the most painful things I've ever had the displeasure to sit through and though Gal Gadot makes a compelling argument for her casting as the titular hero, anyone else involved in the film seems as if they have forgotten what acting is.
The Doctor Poison character may be one of the single worst performances I have ever seen. Somehow DC manages to deliver another boring, ugly movie comprised entirely of pandering, devoid of any real weight.
The only difference here is that they were able to fool people using the magic of identity politics.
