Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Kenneth L — 19 Feb 2018
One of the most overrated films in the last 10 years.
As a fan of the revised Wonder Woman character ( Ancient Greek origins ) I was hoping this film would be the one to bring me a great Amazonian.
Instead I received a far more incoherent and underwhelming Amazon-ish character.
Flaws -.
- What's the time line here? Do the Amazonians age ? How old is Diana?
- Are the Amazonians stronger than humans ? Or just human ?
- How do the Amazonians learn English when they live on a secluded island that has had no contact with the outside world for apparently thousands of years.
- How do they know English and native American but not what marriage is?
- Gadot still has the acting ability of a clothes rack.
- Terrible pacing throughout the film.
- A horribly portrayed Aries GOD OF WAR who feeding on the war of WW1 is fully powered up but cannot defeat a Wonder Woman who only just discovered her abilities.
- A GOD OF WAR who for some reason doesn't annihilate his enemy in an instant and insists on throwing things at her.
- Supporting cast that is inconsequential.
- The "front" scene, for some reason Germans don't know how to shoot anywhere but at a tiny shield and obviously ignore all the other people running around on the battlefield.
- Wonder Womans sword is destroyed , where does her new sword come from in BVS and Justice league.
