Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Jacoobi456 — 11 Jun 2017
Wonderwoman is well, well ahead of the other DCEU films, rivalling some of MCUs best. It didn't focus on the fact that the lead role is a she at all, which was a major relief. SFX were very good, and Jenkins balanced the action and non-action quantities expertly. Gal Gadot and Chris Pine's chemistry was amazing, creating some funny and some beautiful moments between Diana and Steve. This film had one of the best endings I've seen in a long time, the death of Steve (at least for me and the group I saw it with) totally unexpected and very, very sad, due to the brilliant acting by Gadot and Pine before, in some of the more intimate moments in the film. You really feel for Gal at the end, wrapped up in her metal prison watching Steve blow him and the plane to smithereens. The sole con worth mentioning is the villains were once again too straightforward, lacking in depth and overall 'wow factor'.
Overall, a film well worth the ticket money, and significantly better than the other DCEU films currently available for viewing pleasure. Go see it.
