Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Johnny%20 B — 28 Dec 2017
An important but ultimately flawed film. Gal Gadot is absolutely fantastic as a feminist icon for a new generation and a total acting powerhouse, there is no doubt that she is one of the best superhero characters to grace the screen in years, even in this Marvel/DC movie craze.
The movie isn't overly PC or SJW-heavy, but sends a powerful message that a lot of people needed to hear. Eventually the film crumbles into a ridiculous CGI-fueled third act with the typical sub-par villain so often found in comic book movies, but if you can tolerate the bland final fight and get over the conflicting conclusion that seems to go against the movie's over-arching theme and lesson up until that point, the movie is overall enjoyable.
Not nearly as good as it could have been, but definitely worth the watch and worthy of any and all support; they're rare and deserve to be appreciated and encouraged so that they can be even better in the future.
