Clarifying the 3 stars by saying I really did enjoy this movie, and the reason for the low-ish score is based on the hype & expectations I had going in.
The movie was hailed by many of my cyber-friends as "feminist, in a girl power (not a man bashing) way.
What I had issues with, was....
In (the majority of) male superhero movies, the love interest is incidental. The story will hold strong whether the girl is there, not there, is killed, not killed, hurt, unhurt (you get my drift).
In this... The story needs the male love interest for the story to move forward. He prompts her, guides her, reigns her in & ultimately, it's his actions that push her in the final fight scene.
I feel slightly ripped off in that respect.
So, I feel let down.
