Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Norm D — 28 Nov 2017
Wow! Wonder Woman owes a lot to her special efx department. An interesting story on which many, many millions of dollars were spent on the screen images. About 20-mins too long, and 10 of those were the Credits at the end.
The first hour is origins, background, & exposition, some of it beautiful & some of it mammarial Amazonians with tough cases of vaginitis. Then the action begins to get going ... until finally it's really going in comic book style come to rotoscoped CGI life. Gal was good; Chris, too. Wonder what Lynda Carter thought? Too bad WW & Chris didn't have a little more time to themselves - and a love theme, too. The music is so bold & portentous that, really, it begins to lose its emotive punch after 2-hrs. But this is one to have seen in your local Dolby Cinema, for sure. Would've been nice to have heard some of the musical of charm of the Charleston era in the score.
There's quite a bit of underlying social commentary for our era of perpetual war - sexes & guns - but it stays mostly in-bounds.
Pop the corn, crank the 7.1, & enjoy! A new Wonder Woman is on the scene! | ~ Norm de Guerre.
