Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Cazanator — 02 Jun 2017
All I can say is a was very surprised watching Wonder Woman. The DCEU has been a hit and miss so far (Man of Steel was the only great one, BvS was good but had loads of issues and SS was quite bad). Luckily Wonder Woman isn't just good comic movie, it is one of the greats. It is a great origin story, the characters by themselves and with each other are believable and natural, the social commentary the film portrays applies magnificently to the world we live in now. The message the film shows is nothing short of outstanding, sometimes we need an Alien like mentality to truly understand the beauty and the evil of mankind, which Wonder Woman tells brilliantly.
The most commendable aspect of the film is its avoidance of obvious 'girl power'. The film easily could of gone down the route of bashing Men and praising Women but it didn't. They have empowered Wonder Woman without the need of constantly mentioning her gender. Either way this is the best DC movie since The Dark Knight, hopefully the Justice League can match the bar that WW has set.
NO MAN'S LAND was an amazing scene.
