Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Hiddenace — 07 Sep 2017
Being a Wonder Woman fan, I was very disappointed. Right at the beginning they invented a whole new origin story for this film and that's ok, I'm use to alt universes so don't expect me to be snobbish nostalgic, but it was weird that Zeus was turned into the christian god.
The film in general had too many downfalls. The use of typical tropes for characters without developing them made them seem static and boring. I didn't like that Wonder Woman came off as just a super feminist with a static view of the world, 'war is bad.' The worst part was the film had no unique identity of it's own, it tried to be a mix of typical world war movies and superhero flicks like Captain America, but it failed in both aspects. Lastly the accents were a turn off since they were so thick, I can't imagine someone who speaks over 100 languages to have such a thick accent.
