Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Patrick W — 04 Jun 2017
The only reason I even give this 2 stars is because the actors put their all into the film. Alas, the stellar performances could not save yet another disappointing mess from the DC Universe. Even though this one was, thankfully, not directed by Zach Snyder, he did produce it and you can smell his rotten stench all over this.
I'll admit to being more of a Marvel fan, but that doesn't mean I don't criticize the crap pills that cinematic universe tries to make us swallow either (I'm looking at you 1st Captain America movie and Iron Man 2 and 3).
The fact that I actually sat through this from beginning to end without wanting to throw something at the screen means that this was a huge step up from Man of Steel and Batman Vs. Superman, but it just barely climbed above that level of suck.
You know, I think I could have gotten past the blatant cry of political correctness that trumpeted through this film from the very beginning if it at least was a well written script. However, the fact that it force marched us from one stupid plot point to the next made the PC battle cry that much more insulting.
