Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Steven M — 04 Jun 2017
It was okay. Gal Gadot is well cast as Wonder Woman, but I felt the movie suffered from poor writing and cheesy dialogue throughout. It's basically comic book writing. Some of those scenes really make you cringe--Diana walking in on naked Steve Trevor--oh, tee hee hee.
Diana experiencing the outside world for the first time. Okay, we get it--but there's a difference between being naive and innocent and acting like a 5 year old child who knows nothing. And I blame the writing for that.
Chris Pine is a good actor (see Hell or High Water) but here, he's a flat comic book character. Wonder Woman is a marginal thumbs up for me.
