Wonder Woman is the wake up call in which DC has needed ever since Zack Snyder took up the Mantle with Man of Steel. Wonder Woman defines the DC Extended Universe with the idea that we are moving away from the previous movies and starting anew. This is the movie that connects audiences with Wonder Woman. After her debut in Batman V Superman, there was a sense of mystery to the character in which is explained brilliantly in this origin story. Wonder Woman is the origin story in which the creators of the new stand alone Batman movie should strive towards.

As the film opens Diana is a child who is eager, but over confident in her role in the world. As she grows up this understanding has developed into this idea that the world is sick due to a higher understanding creating dominance over the race of man. Which then leads her to join The Great War.

Gal Gadot portrays Wonder Woman as a fiery heroin in which many girls should strive to be. She doesn't allow anyone to tell her what to do, but rather follow her own path. Guiding Diana through this adventure is Steve Trevor played by Chris Pine. Pine's performance in this movie is brilliant. For a supporting character, he creates the humour in which the audience can relate to. And never tries to be above the main protagonist, in which Chris Pine is known for, using his charismatic attitude and his ability to take control of the situation.

The action throughout the movie is brilliant and loosely ties in with the events of WW1. Although Zack Snyder didn't direct the movie. The amount of slow motion shots is astonishing. However Patty Jenkins has created a memorable, passionate and fun DC movie. The fact that there isn't a single appearance of any other Justice League member is brilliant as it doesn't diminish the legacy of Diana.

No, Wonder Woman is a must see for fans of the DC universeâ< or movies in general. There is something for everyone. It's fun, funny and emotional. Which is why this movie stands out the most from Man of Steel and Batman V Superman as it shows a gritty, but enjoyable origin story of one of the Justice League's key members in which gets overlooked to the likes of Batman or Superman. Wonder Woman is a breath of fresh air in which the DC universe has been aiming towards which isn't as brutal as The Dark Knight Trilogy. Or as ridiculous as Suicide Squad.
