Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Tom T — 04 Aug 2017
There are few films where production value, story, direction and acting fire on all cylinders, but... here is one to celebrate. It all starts and ends with Gal Gadot. Her innocent warrior princess is by turns believable, winsome and fierce. Chris Pine elevates what could have easily been a throw away role.
Behind it all is Patty Jenkins' sure and steady direction, forever debunking the belief that a woman can't successfully helm a superhero movie.
Only the red herring baddie and the climactic battle at the end show some cracks, but Gadot's athletic and sleek fight scenes quickly dispelled any creeping disbelief.
A pair of stars are born.
