Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Sam V — 05 Jul 2017

With convincing performances from a majority of the supporting cast and Chris pine, the films plot, soundtrack, cinematography and character construction were not of a standard to be considered the one of the best Superhero Movies of All time.

Wonder Woman seems to suffer a curse that has been haunting DC films for the past 3 years, which is that of cringe inducing, lackluster and a complete indepth of plot line, characters and camera work.

In order to see the true fault within this film is too compare it to 'The Best Superhero film of all Time', Batman: The Dark Knight. The plot and multi layered performance from all involved of the Dark Knight is so intricate and masterful that it rightfully is regarded as as masterclass in film executed by Christopher Nolan.

However, Wonder Woman does not produce anything remotely similar to Dark Knight, with lackluster fight scenes, childish antagonist construction and awkward dialogue that often ends in a shriveled nose of confusion or sheer cringe, the movies key components fail to justify its ratings.

The political undertone is extremely subtle throughout and created an even more uncomfortable viewing experience, as a lot the political issues wanting to be discussed were often ill mannered and put into scenes unjustifiably just to gain admiration of those seeking a political undertone of 'Girl Power' and not an undertone of excellence in plot, character construction nor compelling action.

This movie is a far cry from the reviews, and to have it reviewed within 10% to the likes The Dark Knight, Citizen Kane, The Godfather and other Masterclasses in film. Gal Gadot as the female lead character was convincing, but could not save this Titanic.

The film seemed to care more about producing a B-List film with a overpowering political message than create a compelling piece of film with multi layered performances and a exciting plot. A far Cry from Reviews, Im in awe.
