Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Tyler B — 29 Jun 2017
Finally a DCEU movie that gets it right, at least mostly. Respectfully portraying a strong independent female character while not minimizing the male counterparts by flipping pre-existing prejudice but by portraying them as strong counterparts.
A DC movie that feels more like a Marvel movie than any of its predecessors in both the positives and negatives. Like many of the marvel movies much attention is given to the hero while the villain remains under developed.
Although Danny Huston is strong in as a mid-level villain, however the relieve of Aries remains underwhelming and the climactic battle causes unwanted flash backs to the disaster that was Batman vs. Superman.
This aside Wonder Woman provides breath taking visuals and strong character development giving Patty Jenkins a movie she should be proud of, giving a bright light at the end of a very dark tunnel for the DCEU.
