Review of Wonder Woman (2009) by J M — 07 Mar 2009
No offense to some of the great actors who provided their talented voices for this film, but this animated tale of the Amazon Princess was sadly disappointing for many reasons..
.
There are many animated films which engage and excite the viewer, and this one falls far short of that goal. In addition to a poorly written script and story plot, the film lacked character fundamentals. (I'm shocked that someone at Warner Bros. actually approved this for production.).
.
Aside from portraying Wonder Woman as hard, cold and ill tempered, the film also depicts Steve Trevor as a chauvinistic pig, on a mission to get laid, instead of an honorable and chivalrous soldier..
.
As a fan of both the comics and the 70's television show, I apologize that there is nothing positive I could say about this film..
* If there is a live action film to be made in the near future, I sincerely hope that the people at WB and DC take a good long look at the WW image they want to present to both long time and new fans alike. Don't make the same mistakes George Lucas made with his prequals folks..
